My favorite book, Chris. Like it so much I’ve sat through the very dull Redford film version and found aspects I liked. I think Leo can make a damn good Gatsby. I’m pulling for him and Luhrmann. And the book survives because The Great Gatsby would fit in quite well with our shallow times. Nothing has changed.

You’ll get an eyeful of that around here, that’s for sure. Missoulians are nuts about their dogs. Too nuts, in my opinion. But this spot is a great place to go; a little out of town, and we are able to catch it off hours. It’s good for all of us.

I remember reading Thoreau’s book about Cape Cod and he talks in one section about the bodies of shipwreck victims washing up on shore. Really vivid stuff. Almost like a horror novel. You would not expect it from Thoreau.
