One-Sentence Journal, Week Seventeen

  1. 10/21/2013:  I’ve found one of the greatest antidotes to Monday Morning Blues is delivering paid freelance writing work I’m happy with, on time.
  2. 10/23/2013:  The only upside to having a cold, or being temporarily sick in any way really, is the pleasure one feels when, like the sun burning through the clouds, everything starts to feel relatively normal again.
  3. 10/24/2013:  For the third year in a row, Julia and I find ourselves avid postseason baseball fans, something I’ve come to look forward to more and more each fall.
  4. 10/25/2013:  A busy afternoon and evening of errands resolved itself into a pretty sweet date night with my best girl: an excellent reading at the book store, then dinner, then Winter in the Blood at the rejuvenated Roxy Theater.
  5. 10/26/2013:  If getting my truck winterized means duct-taping fresh plastic over the busted-out back window, then my efforts this afternoon boldly proclaim, “Bring on Old Man Winter!”
  6. 10/27/2013:  Nearly thirty years of doing it and whenever I first try and sing freshly-written lyrics to new songs they sound awful and I’m convinced I will never be able to do this kind of thing again.

  1. Saw your name a couple of times in the Indy we picked up last weekend – good job!!
The only reason I might be interested in post-season baseball: post-season beards! 🙂
Your winterization methods sound all too familiar…
