One-Sentence Journal, Week Thirty

  1. 04/22/2014:  Tonight I saw my first live music in Detroit Rock City, the mighty German band Kadavar, who proved once and for all that the greatest rock n’ roll configuration was, is, and remains . . . the Power Trio.
  2. 04/23/2014:  Spent an evening with old friends I actually met for the first time, Patti and Phil Abbott, who invited me into their home, provided a tour of their part of the city, and sent me on my way after an excellent dinner out.
  3. 04/24/2014:  It was something of a culture shock leaving urban activities in downtown Detroit in favor of a reading from a fly fishing writer almost immediately on landing in quaint little downtown Missoula, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  4. 04/25/2014:  Hearing someone talk under the influence of helium is as hilarious at the gates of fifty as it is when you’re twelve, an age my housemate often betrays symptoms of having not ever really matured beyond . . . .
  5. 04/27/2014:  Returned again to Crazy Canyon for a hike, which was crisp and beautiful as ever on something of a brisk middle-of-the-day.
  6. 04/28/2014:  A bustling day on the precipice of departure for another trip; this time Los Angeles, where weather in the upper nineties is being forecast and my brain really can’t grasp yet what that actually means.
